8 Days and 7 Nights
Itinerary
1st Day:
Arrival at catania airport. Transfer on your own to the hotel
in Aciraele. Dinner and overnight.
2nd Day:
Breakfast. Metting with our tour Escort and departure for the
excursion towards "Volcano Etna". The excursion will
reach at 1900 meters from sea level to admire "The silvestri
Craters" and the past eruptions. According to the weather
the group might carry out an extra trip by jeep and reach the
height of the 2700 meters above sea level. In the afternoon visit
the Taormina, enchanting town facing from the Mount Tauro and
the lonian Sea. During the stay you can admire the Greek Theatre,
the Cathedral and thefamous "Corvaja" palace. A nice
walk through little narrow streets with short cuts in the historical
centre. Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
3rd Day:
Breakfast and departure to Catania. Visit to the historical centre
with its baroque monuments. After a tour of the town a nice stop
to the local fish market is done. Typical colours of fruit and
vegetables located on wooden stands attract the attention of
sellers whose screaming make the market as a "Casba".
In the afternoon is foreseen the visit of Syracuse, the most
important Greek colony. The Greek Theatre, the Dyonisius ' Ear,
the island of Ortigia recall the atmosphere of one of the largest
populated Greek town. Back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
4th Day:
After breakfast departure to Piazza Armenina where an important
Roman Villa famous for its mosaics is located. In the afternoon
a guided visit to Agrigento, the old Akragas with its temples
and the almond trees valley. Accommodation at a reserved hotel
and dinner. After dinner a suggestive visit of the lighted valley
catch your Sicilian atmosphere. Overnight.
5th Day:
Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Selinunte, one of the most important
archeological parks facing the Mediterranean sea, where the Akropolis
and the western Temples are still visible. After a stop the tour
will touch the peak of Mount San Giuliano, site of a medieval
village. "Erice", located at 700 meters above sea-level.
Late evening arrival at Palermo. Accommodation at hotel. Dinner
and overnight.
6th Day:
Breakfast at hotel. Guided tour of the town with its monuments:
Palace of the Normans, seat of the Regional Parliament, the Palatine
Chapel with its mosaics, the famous church of St. John of Eremeti,
the Cathedral with the thumb of Frederic II and the "Massimo
theatre", the theatre of Palermo's Nobility. The visit will
proceed towards Monreale to admire the "Chistro of the Benedettine"
and the Cathedral, famous for its beauty and defined one of the
most beautiful sample of art in the world. Back to the hotel,
dinner and overnight.
7th Day:
After breakfast departure to the park of the Madione Mount, where
you will visit some typical village: Castelbouno set in
a green valley at the foot of the castle of Ventimiglia, where
you will admire some important architectonic jewels such as the
church Madrice Vecchia, the Museum and the Palatina Chapel and
Geraci enchanting village with a medieval structure. In the afternoon
visit of Cefalu, picturesque sea-village known for its wonderful
Norman cathedral. At the end back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
8th Day
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport of Palermo.
