Itinerary - Leaving from Palermo
1st Day: Palermo
In the afternoon arrival to Palermo and free transfer to the
Hotel. Accommodation in private rooms. Dinner and overnight.
2nd Day: Palermo
Full board in hotel. Morning tour of the city with the emphasis
on the richness of its arts, visiting the Cathedral, the Church
of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, Norman Palace, and in its interior
the Palatine Chapel, continuation to Monreale, where we will
visit the Duomo with its wonderful golden mosaics and the Benedictine
Cloister. In the afternoon free time and optional excursion
to Mount Pellegrino and Mondello.
3rd Day: Palermo/Agrigento
or porto emedocle
Breakfast and departure to Agrigento or Porto Empedocle, with
a stop to Segesta where we will visit the Doric Temple of the
5th century BC; then to Erice, a small fascinating medieval city,
located at 750 mt, where we will visit the ruins of the Castello
di Venere; then on to Selinunte, an old Greek city, where we
will visit the archaeological site. Lunch in a restaurant or
hotel. In the afternoon we will arrive in Agrigento or Porto
Empedocle. Dinner and overnight.
4th Day: Agrigento or
porto empedocle
Breakfast in hotel. In the morning we will visit the Valley of
Temples: Concordia, Ercole's, Giunone's, Castore's and Polluce's.
Lunch in hotel or in local restaurant if you are on the excursion.
In the afternoon we depart to Piazza Armerina, where we will
visit the Villa Romana del Casale, which is well known for its
mosaics. In the late afternoon we continue to Catania or Giardini
Naxos or Letojanni. Dinner and overnight.
5th Day: Eastern Sicily
Breakfast in the hotel. End of tour.
