Itinerary - Leaving from Palermo

Day 1: saturday - Palermo
In the afternoon, arrival of participants at Palermo airport without transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in reserved rooms and meeting with the tour guide. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Sunday - Palermo
Full board in hotel. Morning dedicated to the visit of the city, one of the richest regarding history and art. You will visit the Cathedral, the San Giovanni degli Eremite Church, the Norman Palace with its Palatine Chapel. Then on to Monreale, where the Cathedral with its wonderful golden mosaics and the Benedictine Cloister will be visited. Afternoon free for leisure and the possibility of taking an optional excursion to Mount Pellegrino and Mondello. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3: Monday - Palermo/Agrigento or Porto Empedocle
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Agrigento or Porto Empedocle. Stop at Segesta to visit the Dorian Temple (V B.C.) to Erice, a little Medieval town, at 750m. where you will visit the ruins of Venus' Castle. Then on to Selinunte, the biggest and most brilliant megalopolis of ancient times. Lunch in hotel or restaurant. In the afternoon, depart for Agrigento or Porto Empedocle. Accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Tuesday - Agrigento or Porto Empedocle/
Catania or G. Naxos or Letojanni or Acireale
Breakfast in hotel. In the morning visit to Agrigento particularly to the "Valley of the Temples". Lunch in hotel or local restaurant. In the afternoon, departure to Piazza Armerina and visit the "Villa Romana del Casale" with its marvellous mosaics. Then on to Catania or Giardini Naxos or Letojanni. Accommodation at hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Wednesday - Catania or Giardini Naxos or Letojanni or Acireale
Breakfast, dinner and overnight in hotel. Full day excursion to Syracuse, the most beautiful and greatest Greek colony in Sicily. You will then visit the famous Artusa Fountain, the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheater, Dionysus' Ear and the Latomie. Lunch in restaurant.

Day 6: Thursday - Catania or Giardini Naxos or Letojanni or Acireale
Breakfast in hotel. Full day excursion to Etna to the Silvestrian craters to 1,800m. Optional excursion to the central crater and continuation to Taormina. Lunch in restaurant. Afternoon visit of the lovely and typical centre of Taormina with its Greek Theatre. Terminating the visit of Taormina, proceed to Messina and accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Friday - Messina/Palermo
Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning visit of Messina. Departure to Tindari, archeological site and visit of the Greek - Roma Theatre and the sanctuary of the "Black Madonna". Proceed to Palermo along the Tyrrhenian Coast, visiting Cefalù. Lunch in restaurant. Arrival in Palermo in the late afternoon. Accommodation in the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Saturday - Palermo
After breakfast in the hotel, end of your tour.
